Today we are waiting for our group at the dock in Puntarenas for another fantastic trip to the island of the sharks and an evening with a great sunset. Right away , we started to set the gear up to have everything ready just to enjoy the crossing with dolphins chasing the Okeanos waves and the birds flying next to us all the way to Cocos. When we arrived to Cocos the weather was good and Chatham was our first dive with no currents at all and flat surface just perfect for the check dive: White tips everywhere ,lots of fish and even two hammerheads we were able to see on super shallow water.
Next we dove Manuelita coral garden and just at 50 feet on the sand and the show just started with hammerheads around us ,tiger shark passing by and jack fish everywhere with marble rays so close to us, that it was a real show.
Dirty Rock next day was offering us the schools of hammerheads above . Alcyone is the diving site that Jacques Cousteau found when he was here in 1987 and this is the place where everybody was excited about going and dive and of course, it did not disappoint us with hammerheads, white tips ,marble rays ,almaco jacks ,horse eyes jacks, schools of mulet snappers and a huge Manta rays so the dive was one of the best of this charter.
Small Dos Amigos was full of Galapagos sharks so close to us that everyone got amazing photos and videos and the best of this trip was to see these beautiful sharks.Big Dos Amigos got tons of fish inside the arch with great visibility and getting out from it , we dove with a Pacific Manta Ray doing circles around all the divers , not afraid of us , we did enjoy that dive with her!
In Viking Rock we saw the Red lipped Batfish and in Pajara island a couple of orange Frog fishes and this were the places to look for small stuff like morays ,flounder ,lobsters ,blennys and lots of little fish like Caribbean coral garden but on the pacific, because really, Cocos has it all. We ended up seeing everything the island has to offer and I’m sure that our guests full filled all the expectations they had for this trip.
Stay tuned for more
